Our Story

We are residents of the South Bay area of Los Angeles who grow food and flowers using organic practices.  Manhattan Beach Community Gardens (MBCG) is a dba for the Pea Patch Community Garden Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation with the mission of providing residents with the opportunity to learn about organic gardening.

MBCG members maintain their own individual garden plots and grow their own organic vegetables and flowers while having access to the tools, resources and support of the community gardens.  They can also choose to donate produce to a local food bank on a weekly basis.

We are located on three school campuses, the Pacific, Meadows and Pennekamp Elementary Schools, which are within the Manhattan Beach Unified School District (MBUSD).  While MBUSD provides the land and water resources for the MBCG, we support our garden association through annual membership dues and through grants from  local organizations and businesses.
